Cool winter evening
The fire-flowers blossom
One by one, they bloom
In my heart, an ember burns
Hope, glowing, warming my soul
(Fireworks in the New Year)

The kind of person
Everyone speaks well of yet
Nobody talks to
So let my pithy pen speak
In dangling conversation
Dazzling brightness
Winter mocks the unwary
Cruel as life itself
The frore, bitter winds dancing
Across the Midwestern plains
Travelers stories
Nostalgia envelopes me
That scent of pine trees
Humid air, those bluegrass aires,
The soft drawls of my kinfolk
Armchair traveler
When will you wake up and step
Outside of your door?
Come on! The wide world awaits
Yet my heart is hesitant
Bryony (Bluefairy Tiny Fairy Cafe Kate doll), Picture by myself
Swilling her peach wine
This crone makes no bones about
Enjoying her dolls
Outside the blizzard howls yet
Spring sweetly sings in my heart.
Maple tree under snow in my backyard, photo by myself
平成三十一年二月二十一日
A blanket of grey
The scent of snow in the air
Winter’s cold caress
My tears frozen to my face
I wonder why I’m crying
平成三十一年二月二十二日
Pain, past and present
Winter is not my season
Knife-sharp, the twisting
Of my body, of my mind
Warped into a silent knot
平成三十一年二月二十六日
My brush hesitates
Hovering over the page
Like a dragonfly
My words are soft and cloudy
As a midwinter’s morning
平成三十一年二月二十七日
How to speak of it
World weariness infusing
Each waking moment
No rhyme, reason, or excuse
The sleet falls unrelenting
A mistake, it seems
All are welcome, but not you
Surely that was clear?
There is no purgatory
Like being tolerated
Here! And here! And here!
The world is just too full of
Interesting things
The seasons pass too quickly
If only I had more time
Evening clouds falling
Covering the barren earth
Like a soft blanket
Dogs barking, something unseen
Leaves fresh footprints in the snow
On a withered branch
A little bird balances
Swaying in the wind
But listen! Can you hear it?
A song echoes in the dawn
